THADDEUS TWATT IN THE TWATT-VERSE
Some Background info & Up-Date
15th October 2007
The Thaddeus Twatt project is still a "live one"! I'm adding some text pages as well as general knowledge info to make the final book both fun but also educational.
The second volume I'll be working on as soon as the D-Gruppe books are completed so 2008 will be a busy year all round!
*************************
Professor Thaddeus Twatt is one of a loooong historical line of British scientific eccentrics. Created back in the 1960s in a series of stories scribbled in note books by yours truly,Professor Twatt had his roots in two main genre –TV and books.
I well recall seeing the first ever Dr Who episode [yes,I am that old!] with William Hartnell as the Doctor –a great British character actor. There were also the childrens fantasy book character Professor Brainstorm –who Twatt looks far more akin to- with the incredibly eccentric drawings of the legendary Heath Robinson.
Twatt gets into lots of trouble simply by having great ideas and,er,well, things going wrong! In 1995 I drew “ADVENTURES IN THE TWATT-VERSE” which saw the Prof and his nephew,Tom,miniaturised and going off to explore a mini galaxy! “The Fearful Fate Of Friggia” saw the duo set off on this adventure and discover that not all has gone well in the “Twatt-verse” –unminiaturised worms have become city-killers,gigantic woodlice float from planet to planet and if the over-sized insects are not enough there are mysterious sabouteurs at work, colonisation groups that have reverted to barbarity…..and more.
This is a selection of pages –any publisher interested I can send better scans.
